About This Project: This is not really a project, but merely a sampling of photographs of people I’ve taken over the years. I found while making this gallery for the website that my favorite pictures of people involved those that were elusive, somewhat hidden and unrecognizable, except possibly as archetypes. I’d never really thought of myself as a photographer of people, perhaps because I am more interested in a sense of place and how humans interact with, and within, their environments than in the individual. When viewed through a lens, I tend to think of people not as individuals, but more as an integral part of their surroundings, affecting and being affected by their interactions with them. I see them more as objects within compositions, strengthening and supporting the overall compositions, rather than as subjects of them.
