Douglas Dreaming | Artificial Daylight

Douglas Dreaming

This is a series of minimalist black and white photographs taken over a 3 day period on the Waterville Plateau in Douglas County, Washington.

About This Project: These photographs were taken in the winter of 2003, during a three day period, on the high Waterville Plateau of Douglas County in the wheat country of Eastern Washington. Here, the clouds often hover just overhead, creating a sensation of a land without horizon, of extreme quiet and peace.

To fully express the way this place makes me feel, I photographed it with high speed film for accentuated grain, then scanned the negatives into my computer and carefully manipulated them to get the results you see here.
